That's where I'm at, too. In my field, it is often acceptable when taking a new job to tell them you had plans for such-and-such a date and they will grant you that off upon hiring you. Of course, it would be with no pay. The thing is, my son is getting married in May and that's what I'll have to stipulate off upon any hiring. I think I'd be pushing it if I said I need a weekend in March and a week in May. LOL But even if I have a job by then, I still could set out Friday after work (if I'm working days) and shoot Saturday.

It's almost an 8 hour drive for me but that's not much different than driving to Stalkingbear's.

I went to bobski's meet earlier this year and it is a drive from Northern Illinois. I can tell you it is well worth the drive if you want to learn the game. My son and I learned enough to join a sportsman club up here and now we shoot every weekend. When we went down there we knew nothing.

Are you going to this Shoot and Hoot? Which NW Suburb are you in? I fully intend to go but my life isn't too settled right now. An 8 hour drive doesn't really bother me. I just load 6 CD's in my CD player and sing all the way.
