I thought this is funny.A lawyer site talking about michigan firearms laws,and 90% of it is all wrong..You don't have to register handguns in Michigan?Wow I never knew that.You have to get a permit to carry?(and by carry it does not mean concealed,just says carry)And you are prohibited from purchasing firearms with a history of mental illness???,really?Hmm.There is no state,and no federal law that prohibits firearm ownership from a person with a "history"of mental illness,maybe involuntary committment in a mental hospital will prohibit you.Maybe.I think whoever wrote this page is either an idiot or playing a joke.

You can't purchase a handgun in mi with a history of mental illness. Idk what your article is about. I just read the law 3 weeks ago before applying for my purchase permit.
I've heard rumors on the other hand that you can obtain a cpl with a history of mental illness. Which in turn allows you to purchase a handgun with no need for a purchase permit.
