Beretta 92FS problem

My almost new 92FS is still having a problem. It seems as if the slide doesn't come back far enough to cock the hammer. Yhis happens about 50% of the time. I've tried 3 brands of 124 grain ammo with no success yet. It is clean and lubed and is keeping me awake at night trying to think of my next move. I need a little help with this one. Thank you.

The slide might be chipped or the notch in the hammer that holds it back is chipped. Sometimes when gun parts break it is really hard to see the part is broke without a good part to compare it to.

I'll tear it down again and give it a thorough look-at. Thanks for the clue.

You've done all the right and safe user things. Play it safe and take it to a
a gunsmith, or contact Beretta. As a lawyer, I know that gunmakers are really twitchy about ANY defects, and Beretta is a fine company, starting in the
1500 A.D. era. I have a 9mm with the rotary barrel and polymer frame, and even
an old fart like me can hit paper with it.
