More people died on the highway yesterday than in the Conn. shooting but I don't see police pulling people over simply because they have a car. Suppose you just bought the weapon and you were on your way home with it. What are you supposed to do tuck it in your shorts?

That'a a valid point, and a wonderful "what if," but has nthing to do woth the issue at hand. I support open carry for those that want to do so, but it's a right that has to be exercised with a little restraint and common sense. This whole thing just skylines law-abiding gun owners as insensitive jerks, which is completely counter to the open carry movement, and 2A rights as a whole.
