Hogs around witchita?
I've heard about reports of feral hogs south of Wichita, is that true or is someone running their mouth?

I've had multiple people tell me about them in Barber/Pratt Co area. Have even had people in my pickup tell me that they seen a hog a few times, but I still haven't seen them, and that is with looking for deer. Had one co-worker tell me to come out some time and help him hunt them. If they are here, another 45-60 miles east would be very possible.

Hate to say this, but can't wait. I know they tear up fields and are absolutely horrible for farmers but... They seem fun as hell to hunt

I've been trying to organize a hunt for hogs down in Texas. I've got family down there that say they can get me on hogs and let me shoot them for free. Now if only ammo was cheap and available then I'd be on my way. There was a feral pig up around Frakfort/Marysville area that had people thinking the wild hogs made it up that far, but it was most definitely a false alarm.

The state has been doing a pretty good job of keeping the hog problem from growing. One tactic is that no hog hunting is allowed. This is to keep people from seeding an area with imported hogs to get them started to profit on later with guided or fee base hunts. Here is some more:

Same Rules here in Tn. A farmr was one that was caaught trucking them to his property, claaming he didn't know it was illegal, to have them and charge Hunters to hunt them.
Trouble is 30 miles west of us they have been brought in, probably, as there was about 100 according to the state two years ago. Now people in the cove say there a lot more and making their way up the mountains and across Interstate and into northern Alabama.
No one but the Land Owners can hunt them and most don't hunt or don't know how to hunt them.
It is a stupid rule. Organized driven hunts with ATVs and horses and dogs because of terrain would seem to be the answer. Lots of people, in my opinion would volunteer to hunt them The State could set it up and mange it.
It would take a lot of energy, in this country.

There are hogs around Kaw Lake and they are begining to move across the state line into Kansas. I got a couple on my game camera just west of Arkansas City, but haven't found any sign of bedding ares or damage at my place.
