Don't live there but never heard of taking that long anywhere.

I just took the test yesterday Jan 14 for my CWP In Va. Filled out the permit request. Sent an email to the Circuit Court to ask what forms of payment they accept. Doesn't sound like there will be much delay here. I'm amazed at how cheap it is

Here is their reply:

The cost is $15.00 we take cash, check or credit card 4% charge. Need copy of drivers license, copy of certification and the application fill out just questions 1 to 9 do not sign the application until we give you the Oath. Hope to see you soon.

I know they were overwhelmed last year, but not that much! Have you tried calling? I would have called awhile ago. Ours took a few weeks, but we did that before the scare!!

I live in SW Indiana. Applied for my permit during first week of November 2013 & received it exactly 2 weeks later. I've been told they don't like being called & may result in a longer wait. Best regards.

Yes I have called but they usually send me to a voice recording or tell me to go to the state police headquarters and talk to them. I live 2 1/2 hours from there so that's kinda out of the question. I was approved by my county on feb 28 last year. That's why I was wondering if anyone else has been through this so I could try there approach.

Might try working thru your local LE office which approved you last February?

The fact you're getting a voice message tells you, you're not alone. I got mine a while ago. If I were in your shoes today, I'd be on my way to State Police. Ask politely to check the files, use your charm, don't back down until you get an answer. You will.

The reason I suggested starting locally is because if the local never processed it to the State Police, the State will not process anything. If done correctly locally & you have submitted finger prints, then seems the State us the holdup. Good luck.

Thanks everyone for your advice. Locally they have sent it to the state. I know that because I talked to the cop that approved it and sent it out. My money order was cashed on March 1st. So my guess is it's all in the states hands. I think I'm going to have to plan a trip to Indy.
