I want either less corruption or more opportunity to participate in it.

Default Updates on IL CCW

http://wuis.org/post/gun-group-demands-concealed-carry-next-week

Quote:
ISRA believes lawmakers did not meet their deadline because the state's ban on carrying guns outside the home remains in effect.

While concealed carry is officially the law in Illinois, it could be mid-March before a gun owner would actually and legally be able to carry their weapon in public. The new law gives state police six months to setup a permit system, then there's a 90-day application process.

The Rifle Association says that delay continues to deprive lawful gun owners of their constitutional rights.

Newly filed motions ask the U.S. District Court to allow people to carry by next Tuesday, July 16.

ILLINOIS CONCEALED CARRY CLASSES
.... is in the process of setting up our ILLINOIS CONCEALED CARRY CLASSES. We have a large modern classroom, a private training range and five instructors who will be teaching these classes. The cost of the class is $299.95, but if you pre-register you get the class for $279.95. A deposit of $50 is required for pre-registration. When the schedule is set, we will notify everyone and fill the classes on a first come basis.
I'm not naming the legitimate company posting this, because here's the other cost of getting CCW in Illiniois. $300!!! Will have to see if other's follow along the same price line. So that's $450 for Illinois residents to CCW.

Chicago PD's directive on CCW. Apparently welcomed among the foot soldiers there, and hoping it helps reduce crime.

The judge didn't say they needed a law written for concealed carry, he said the prohibition of carrying a firearm outside the home was going to become null and void 180 days after his ruling. There were folks in the shadows waiting to pounce on the GA over this one and they never saw it coming.
Kind of like telling Junior to clean up the mess in his room and he just moves the furniture around.

$300 for a CC class is a little extreme. I heard the Buffalo Range will be doing it for $100 per student, and have heard similar from other training places.
