wow, I just recently sent in an address change form and surprisingly my new FOID with new address came back in less than 30 days....

I do have to get my wife one though, hope it doesn't take 100 days.....like my primer and powder orders....erhhhhh:mad:!

Dang! You could have moved to a gun-friendly state in less than a week...:(

Mack Bolan 05-09-2013 08:40 PM

yeah, but would I find a new job making what I am now that quick....very unlikely:confused:

they said on WBBM News Radio today that the IL state police have a backlog of 79,000 new FOID card applications to process with an additional 28,000 added to that in April alone.....and they are struggling to meet their 30day turn around requirement or obligation.

There is no "struggle" to it. They don't even currently have a full staff. They are two people short in the office. I sent my renewal in over 100 days ago in the same envelope I sent my wifes. She recieved hers two weeks ago.
Supposedly, they are losing $8 for every application they process, and need to raise the fee to $20 to cover costs. I have a tiny violin.

Here is the break down of your $10

$6 goes to the DNR (WTF?)
$1 goes to a gun tracing program (wonder how that is working out?)
$3 goes to the ISP to support the FOID program (yeah that ain't working...)
