"A Change of Address/Name Form for current FOID cards was recently added to the Illinois State Police website. This form is only to be used for those current cardholders who have changed either their name and/or address. This form is not to be used as a renewal application or in the event a FOID card that has been lost or stolen. "

There is a notice at the top of the page in a yellow box

You might have to cancel you hunting plans...

Are you a new resident to IL? Does anyone else in your house have a FOID?

According to ISRA, 70,000 FOID apps were submitted in February. There is one small office manned by a handful of ISP just south of Springfield. Don't count on your phone call being answered; they consider the ringing background noise. Now, if they were to take some of that FOID money and open a few satellite offices around the state, you might get a quicker processing time, but that would go against everything our politicians hold dear. So yes, they don't follow the law and they don't complete your app within the legal time frame, not much is going to change as long as the FOIS system is intact.

There are a lot of laws we all accept but do not agree with, I generally
do not play around things that will get you a felony arrest. Being the
single bread winner with a wife and 2 sons, you do view thing differently.

Typically today you are looking at 75-90 days. Yes the law says 30 days but
the ISP is being over run with applications. Also 100% of the fee is
supposed to go to administering the program but Springfield diverts 7 out of
10 dollars to the general fund so they can fund entitlements to the lazy
bastards of this state and buy those votes for the next election. Sorry I
digress... My wife and I both have FOID that expire on different years so
some one always has a valid FOID in the house. Also I just applied for FOID
cards for my kids. So in case they are left home alone we are covered.

But I would call once a week past 30 days, just to be a PITA... The number
is above. BTW, I know of 2 instances that checks were not cashed and
the person had to re-apply, but when checks are cashed and you are not
denied for a valid reason you will eventually get your FOID.

@Shade: No I am the only one with a FOID in the house. My firearms do not leave the house since my FOID expired. I do not have any ammo for them either. I shot all of it up well over 9mos ago.

If the Po-Po show up and someone for whatever reason lets them in at least some one has a FOID. That is good, keep them in the house until you get it renewed is a prudent move. No ammo that sucks.

My FOID card arrived today! They cashed my check on Feb. 15th; it took 49 days. I heard the average wait was 64days. Now I can start buying ammo as me stores get it!
