Default Current Update CC in the IL Senate HB183 Vs SB2193...

From Todd Vandermyde

Quote:
The senate dems met for a 2 hour caucus that devolved into a a shouting match amoung senators.

The President is refusing to allow Senator Forby to call the house carry bill. Instead they are going to offer an amendment to their bill that takes most of the parts of the House bill but then strips out the safe harbor provisions, any private property can ban firearms on their property all they want. .

They will remove reseraunt carry and increase penalties for carrying while intoxicated to a class A misdemeanor.

They will also whittle down the preemption to only apply to carrying. But unclear if that applies to mags, ammunition and other things or not.

We could see an amendment late tonight with a committee hearing in the AM but unsure as these clowns don't seem to be very organized

More as I get it.

It looks like it will be an amendment to HB183. Call your senator and urge them to oppose this bill/amendment.
The senate convened for 5 minutes then went to Caucus, then came back for 5 minutes and went into recess. This is the 2 hour shouting match that Todd is talking about.

Regardless if you like SB2193 or not, HB183 is/will be even worse.

Now you will start to see the 2 minute offense and the blitzing defense. Going to be like a pack of wild dogs.

The goons are not going to let either of these two pass. The sb2193 will let fellow chicagoans off the hook on the AW ban and capacity ban and your senate is not going to let this happen . The HB183 just plain sucks as does most bill that come out of the senate . Lets hope they drag this sh!t out til June 9th

Don't kid yourselves. The 9th won't favor anyone when there is a patch work of 200+ carry laws across the state.

House Bill 183 Alert

Much like the Senate tried to sneak bad gun legislation through in early January of this year, they worked late into the night hoping to move an amendment to HB183 as their counter to Speaker Madigan's shall issue carry bill with full preemption.

Please help stop this abuse of the legislative powers entrusted to them by filing witness slips in OPPOSITION to Senate Amendment 4 to HB183 immediately.

Link to Witness Slip http://my.ilga.gov/WitnessSlip/Create/69231?committeeHearingId=11188&LegislationId=69231 &SCommittees-page=1

Phone calls and emails to all Senators expressing the same opposition should also be politely done
