Any new reports on the Pigs down by Mtn Home
I had heard about a year ago we had some down in the Mtn Home area. I think Fish and Game was saying we need to get rid of them and they were saying it is a open season. I know the whistle pigs are coming out soon and was thinking a big spring pig would be fun as well.

Used to be a lot of WP in the Simco Rd area south of the freeway, , but it has been quite while since I was there when WP's were out and about. Last year we saw plenty just East of Mt. Home along 84, they were running everywhere.
Yes, shooting will begin soon, we have seen a few west of Boise, but they will not be out in force for a few weeks, and we usually wait until they are finished having young, Will be soon, then until June or early July depending on the weather. No season or limits, BLM maps are a good thing to keep you on public land where permission is not needed. Hope this year is as good as the last few have been. Good luck. |
I think what I meant was pigs as boars. The bigger ones.

Ok I am a little confused? Are you guys talking about wild pigs or ground hogs/rock chucks? I didn't know we had wild pigs in idaho.

I was talking about wild pigs as in hogs.

So I have read several articles on this.. I bet with an anxious as allot of us Idaho hunters are to go shoot a pig if they posted a sightings map on the IDFG website the issue could be taken care of pretty quick like. I would jump on the road & make the short drive to mountain home for sure if I knew where to go looking for some bacon..
