In Ocala, R&D Tactical is a great indoor range. Leesburg and Micanopy also have indoor ranges. Out in the Ocala National Forest is an outdoor range of I believe 125 yards. So in this local area is a number of options for the shooting enthusiast.

Stay Prepared!

Considering the consequences is never wasted time.

From my east window it is open range as far as you can see. You can shoot as far as you like and not worry about where to shoot. Prairie Dog towns that cover miles. We have gongs set up out to 2200 yards as well. If you ever pass thru the Bear River Country you may shoot at them. The western states were made for Rifleman.

As at least one other has posted, we have a very good outdoor range about 20 miles north of Fort Myers just off I-75 (Punta Gorda exit). It's at the Cecil B. Webb park in the Babcock Ranch, and it's even free for residents over 65. Low cost for others. Rifle (up to 200 yards), pistol and shotgun ranges, covered shooting benches, decent restroom facilities (mens & ladies). Maybe some of us could get together there.

Also we have an indoor range in Fort Myers at the Shoot Straight dealer. It's at Colonial and Fowler intersection. 11 lanes, 25 yards, rifle, handgun and shotgun (slugs only). I think you can use your own ammo and lead is permitted.

Phone: 239-939-0357

Range Hours:
Mon-Sat Hours: 10:00 am 8:30 pm ET
Sun Hours: 11:00 am 6:30 pm ET

Going off subject, but tell me about the Jacksonville gun shows. Are they worth a 200 mile drive?
