Competition shooting
 

I am looking to try some competition shooting here in south florida. Does anyone know of any place or group that does this? Thanks in advance..:)

**First Tuesday Night Drills, 05/01/12**
at Markham Park Target Range
6:00 pm to 9:30 pm, $20 Members/$25 Guests.
Cut off for sign-up is 6:30 PM. If you are going to be later than that call, to be squadded, call 305-496-3623.
NO new shooters after 6:30. If you are bringing guests:
They MUST be there on time for the New Shooter Briefing.

**Second Saturday IDPA Match, 05/12/12 **
at Miami-Dade’s Trail Glades Range
8:30 am to 1:00 pm, $20 Members/$25 Guests
Cut off for all matches will be 8:30 AM. We want to get started as early as Possible You must be inside the doors before 8:30 or call Roger @ 305-496-3623 to sign you up over the phone.

**4thTuesday Night Carbine Match, 05/22/12
South Florida Defensive Carbine
at Markham Park Target Range
6:00 pm to 9:30 pm, $20 Members/$25 Guests

**4th Saturday IDPA Match, 05/26/12**
at Markham Park Target Range 8:30 am till we are DONE $20 Members / $25 Guests
Cut off for all matches will be 8:30 am. You must be inside the gate before 8:30,
if you are on your way, call Roger @ 305-496-3623 to sign up over the phone.

YES, you can DO IT!!!

If you can get out there tonight they are holding drills/practice. rifle on one side pistol on the other. Basically, we just work on drawing from holster, tac reloading, emergency reloads, firing form weak hand, moving while firing. I am also new at comps and have only been at it for about 2 months. You kinda burn through the ammo, last practice I shot 200 rounds. But, the rifle matches are a lot of fun. Everybody is nice enough. I find shooters in general are friendly people. Be, there early, probably around 6:00! they want to get you into a new shooters course, they do that for everybody. They go over the rules, what experiences you have, etc....I am 50/50 if i am going tonight.

Awesome...I have not done any of the IDPA events yet..... I will probably not be at the one on the 12th, it is my brothers birthday and we will be Bar B Q'ing. However, I am definitely going to be at the Rifle Match later this month.
