Put some thought into this, people. Don't tell me that orangello has had a more centered thought than some of you.

Gello, you are in my "colony". More to come later.

Skully is my boy, so this warranted deeper thought. Bear with me.

I'm not a Hip Hop guy, but Sir Mixalot was the first and only pro 2A guy in the genre. More concept based than most realize, the man is pro-troop, effectively rhymed "flash suppressor", and made Gore-Tex fashionable for the Pacific NW.

With the release of the album "Seminar", he gave the concept of toga wearing Greek council, where specialists in a field meet as equals, and lend the nuts and bolts as related to their individual endeavors to a singular project. I dig this idea, and can visually relate it to the core members of this forum. It is in this spirit, as opposed to the typical E.V.E., machines take over, zombie amok type vision that I proceed.

1) Jess- Has demonstrated that she has no testes, and is therefore not ruled by them. Thinks with reasoned clarity, moreso than I, and not simply a default femme, but actually valuable both because of and in spite of her gender.

2) Musket- Haven't heard from her in awhile, but again valuable beyond simply being a woman. She was on top of all the political issues, and was the one who alerted folks to sneaky legislation, so in an activist category, she ranks with opaww.

3) J.D.- Having communicated at length, there is no need for perception here. J.D. is coldly analytical, when the group is impassioned about an issue, he sees the flipside and acknowledges it, even if he doesn't like it. He's the big picture guy, so in building the compound, while individuals focus on small pieces, he ropes it together, and this will apply to the survival goal beyond eat and procreate.

4) Skully- People think survive=shoot a deer. Skull sees beyond this. Mad cow showed that if you're thinking a one animal food source, you're stuck if that one animal is besieged. He hunts effectively. He fishes effectively. I percieve that he's probably down with roots and berries. Beyond that, bright, very bright, and not in full stride yet. When he realizes what he's capable of, lookout.

5) IGETEVEN- I'm a grunt, always be one, and know that if SHTF, I'll be fine with a knife and a poncho. The grunt mentality is tough to explain unless you've been there, but my 11Bs understand. This guy is probably the consumate grunt, more of a next level guy. My pick for tactics and training.

6) Goju- My hand to hand guy, and spiritual pick. This isn't because I require either, and their value to me is limited. The gold nugget here is the classical thought. He is a proponent of a classical art and a classical religion, and adheres to both. Rare in a world that wants to lump everything together. Discipline is the hallmark of this one.

7) Asmel- Adaptibility is Asmel's deal. I think if I required him to learn Cantonese and drive a Mack dumptruck, he'd say "Ni Hao" and pop a wheelie as he parallel parked. The ability to adapt to situations and surroundings is critical and underrated.

8) Ineff- I relieve him of his mortal husk and put his brain in an oxygen and nutrient rich solution, encase it in an obelisk, and outfit it with a comm device. We consult it for those really tough decisions. He calls all of us Dave.

9) JDP- People tell me I'm funny, I don't see it. This guy is humor incarnate, undoubtedly the funniest on the forum.

10) Falseharmonix- I trained escrima with a Filipino kid, watched endless Chambara, and have a love of the blade that seems creepy. To me, blades are fluid and alive, not random and clumsy like a blas..er...gun.
To knife fight is to create. Creative ability I admire, because I have none. I look at figure skating, and know I can't do it, so I appreciate the art. Music is the same to me. Can't play, but envy those that do.

11) Cane- I love old school. I'm all about it. Cane is at the right age to relate to those younger, and pass on the wisdom not handed to him, but hard earned through life.

12) Yeah, him too- I often get absorbed in deeper thought. I spare you guys just how deep, just because it can get really heavy. Not depressing, but contemplation of something seemingly simple for hours at a time. Like this thread. The concept of a classic Greek council, Ineff as Socrates, adjusting a cushion, tucking into a stuffed grape leaf, about to speak, and interrupted by a voice.
"We look like a bunch of effin kid touchers. BB is such a douche."

I wish there was an honorable mention for 12 more. I hate these threads for the sense of exclusion. But you're all in my thoughts.

Well, most of you.

I don't see my name on my list do I.

I didn't put myself in there, I just gave why I picked them.

How can you possibly do this and not forget someone?? I mean, seriously now, if Armageddon is brewing, I would stake my life on the members of this fine forum seeing the writing on the wall and getting ready for the Shi’ite storm FIRST.

So, based on what I know of you all, this is how I see things falling out for me and mine.

First off, we need to pick someplace where we can grow food, where we can defend, we have running water, lots of live game, and where we can actually survive and thrive.

The Pacific Northwest Olympic National Forest fits that bill for me. It is 923 THOUSAND acres of fresh water, game, trees for protection and resources. We will have a vacation colony somewhere down south for those Snow Birds in the group.

I have a few local guys that will join me. Former operators ( 2 ) and a couple of good shooting, well equipped, great hunters.

I don’t have a pecking list, because we are going to have problems with all the Alpha Males in the camp. I have a plan to help, but you can’t assign ranks of importance with this motley crew.

Here’s who I need and why/what:

First, the old guys – because they may die out before they read this whole post.

The Canester – He’s a former Engineer, he’s a shooter and he has a great mind. The man will be able to help with all the enviro-engineering that will be needed to keep our group in some sort of comfort. He’s former military, even though he was in the Navy, so he can assimilate into almost every environment.

Stalkingbear – Okay, he’s got a bad back and a bad wheel. So what? I can work with that. ‘Bear has been a gunsmith for 27 YEARS!! Do you REALLY think this guy can’t enviro-engineer a few tools and a few improvements without electricity? C’mon now. He is going to be as valuable as the Ye Olde Blacksmith. Besides, I got plans to extend ‘Bear’s quality of life and keep him comfortable.

NGIB – The guy is former military, retired, so he can fit in and he can help with the limited chain of command that we will require. He works as an accountant, so he isn’t the most entertaining in the room, but when he tells you we have enough meat and fish to last 3 weeks, you better effing listen. This man will oversee what we need to keep track of, and he will also weigh in with other issues. He’s a good man with a good, solid background.

Opaww – Everyone thinks this is the old guy at the end of the block who is always bitching at kids to get off his lawn. The fact of the matter is, he is retired military and the man cares. He’s involved in his community. He will be priceless in interfacing between community members and helping head off Alpha Male penis measuring contests. He is also IN LOVE with being a grandpa. This community will have children, and they will all need a lovable old grandpa to read them stories and get them to do their chores. Opaww is the perfect choice.

BobbyB13 – This man is the ultimate deal finder, and he is the ultimate negotiator. There will no doubt be other colonies. At some point we will need a trader, a spokesman and someone who can get us the most of what we need for the least amount of what we have to lose. He will also be a great grandfather figure to the little ones when Opaww needs a break, because he is the ultimate sucker for his grandkids. Bobby will also be involved, no doubt, in the training and caring for the dogs that will no doubt be present to help warn against evil.

CA357 – This man has a level of service and sacrifice that most of you never hear about. This man will give you the shirt off his back, and half the skin too, if you needed it more than he did. He’s a tough as nails veteran, but he has learned thru the years that there is a time to fight and there is a time to wait. His input on issues will be invaluable and his integrity will be beyond reproach.

TXNorton – This man is not going to love the PNW, but his time in the service will make him adhere and never complain. He’s going to be valuable in several skills around the compound, but his training and education of the young bucks of the community is going to be very important.

Lady Musket – Yes, she’s a woman but she will be very important as our little community gets past the “we made it through the night” phase and into the growing community phase. She won’t go with the flow and she will definitely voice her concern to any council that may be holding court. She will gather facts and she will garner support from the community itself, which in the end, is the best for the group.

What’s that, 8 already? Skull is going to hate these posts… LOL

The Usual Suspects: These are the guys that show up on a lot of lists, for a lot of things, but I have a few different reasons.

Cpttango30 – The man is former military, he is a hacker’s hacker and he isn’t afraid to call a spade a black card that came from the deck. Tango is the devil on everyone’s shoulder, but he is a very vocal one and usually quite UN-PC. His abilities with small arms ( hunting and self defense ) will be second to his ability to make things run, make things work, get a stuck project moving forward again and point out the obvious. I also trust his judgement, especially when I send him as part of raiding parties.

Benning Boy – My brother from another mother. Benning is former military and has no problem filling a spot and getting the job done. Benning will definitely be part of defense force, and part of my personal inner circle of advisors, because he can separate emotion from fiction.

IGETEVEN – Jack. This man is relatively new, around these old time posters, but I identify with the man and I respect him. His first roll will be in training and PT for the young bucks, but he will be an anchor to the defense force. With his brother in paint, Cpttango, and a few others, my raiding party will be like the Viking hoardes hitting your little compound.

Skullcrusher – The man is a machinist by trade, but he is also an avid fisherman and hunter. He will definitely be in the hunting party and he will be involved with the crops over watch, especially counter tracking. I respect the man, and I trust that I can get from him the same answer today, that I got last week when the situation was different. He doesn’t waffle.

RL357Mag – The man is a former Marine. What more do I need to say? He also is a small business owner and he knows how to get things done. He is a shooter’s shooter and he is fiercely loyal. I trust him and I trust his judgment. If he tells me we need to double a patrol, we will triple it because he is talking from a Marine perspective.

Sgt-Miller – We don’t’ always get along, so it will be best if he and I aren’t in the same meetings a lot of the time. However, I trust his training and his abilities to make any team he is assigned part of his duties better, more efficient and more effective. His military time will have him willing to “Salute and move on” when he disagrees, but it will give him the strength to stand up and be heard when he needs to be.

Robo – The man is a giant. Someone said Juggernaut above. There is no doubt keeping this big man fed and up to service action will require a larger plate than normal. He will earn it; times ten, by being indispensable as someone who can get in a Young Bucks’ face and let him know his place. Robo will be on the New Constitution committee. He will be our nation’s Top Cop and he is also going to be one of the leaders of the Interrogation Team for when we discover traders or have captured enemies. Who ISN’T going to talk to Robo?? Seriously??

Ineffable – My other brother, Aces, has the vision that can only be had by being both at the mountain top and in the valley under the sand. His loyalty can not be questioned, once you earn it, he will lay down Heaven & Earth for a debt he owes you. However, he is also a cold, analytical, decision making machine that will be in service as part of the council. He will have a half vote, so it doesn’t go to his head, but he will still get a vote. He will also be in charge of setting up the first casino tent for entertainment purposes for all the folks.

Jo Da Plumber – This man has an awesome eye for the female form, is a true comedian and is also well versed in putting things together and making sure they don’t leak. Let’s face it, we are going to need to harness water and make it work for us. Jo can hot and cold solder, he can tell you just by looking what thread and what size, and he will be in charge of making sure we get the most out of our natural resources. I can see Skull catching a ton of fish, and putting them right into Jo’s cold water recycling tank so we always have fresh fish to eat.

FalseHarmonix – This man will have a lot on his plate I am afraid. Based on his name alone, he has an understanding of things that go beyond the norm. This is a level of thought that takes place when you are trying to problem solve. He will be consulting when projects get stuck and need a new perspective. Being as this new community will need art and entertainment, he will also be in charge of training and equipping the musicians that will be playing in Ineff’s Casino tent. Plus the guy can judge steel. We will need an eye for the blade moving forward.

Matt G – His absence aside, I feel that I know the guy and I know what he is capable of when he sets his mind to something. His heavy equipment knowledge will be great IF we can get any heavy machinery, but he is a problem solver and that is more important. He can fix things, and he can shoot. He’s a Jeeper by hobby and you KNOW those guys know how to enviro-engineer! They also spend a lot of time out in the woods, so they know a few things.

Outside the Box Members: These are the guys who haven’t been named and should have been….

FranciscoMV – This is one of our friends from down South and I want him around. He has a family that raised him on a farm, around grapes, and making wine. Do you think that kind of farming is easy? That there isn’t any science involved?? Uh, no. That is some hard work, with a lot of long hours and a lot of thought into just the right mixture. He also went to school to be a sommelier – and if you think we don’t need culture in our new society, I got another thing for you. This member also is a master of the steel and knows as much about knives as I have ever met. When ammo runs out, steel will be the resource many turn too. I want Francisco working for us.

Asmel – My poor Venezuelan brother. Asmel will be welcome as soon as he can get to the community. He has traveled the world and he has seen many things. He is a loyal and honest friend who will do what is asked of him and is not afraid to get his hands dirty. He’s an Engineer, and I am sure he and Cane will work well together, not to mention he has survived in Chavez country, I mean, C’mon now!

Jeepcreep927 – Jeeper is one of my picks for “everywhere man” of the community. He just lopes in, unannounced, and then hits us with some logic and then he is gone. His Jeep experience means the guy can fix things on the fly, and with limited tools or electricity, plus you know he is ready, willing and able to spend a few nights in some less than ideal environments.

Hydrashok – The shok. He knows his small arms and the man is a hacker’s hacker. He and Tango will make a mess of anything that is against us on the electronic front. He is also ex military and he isn’t afraid to get a little wet and dirty. The man is a small business owner, and that kind of knowledge will be important moving forward. The checks and balances of the small cash flow market. Everyone has to walk before they run.

Ubergopher – Are you kidding me? Anyone with military experience and a tag line that says “Now with More Awesome” is a man for the job. I don’t really know a hell of a lot about this guy, but he has a great sense of humor and that is powerful.

Dunerunner – Definitely a great guy to have around. Used to being out in the environments, he is also a home brewer, and that means he is part scientist and part mad scientist. I like him already.

Spittinfire – The guy can survive when he HATES what is going on. He’s a survivor, but he is also learning the metal trade. By the time we get him, he will know temper, he will know heat treatment and he will have a handle on construction. If we can keep him wrapped in rubber, or another form of Rust Guarding anti-contact clothing, we should be fine.
