If I had actually lost someone's gun, I lose a lot of things and I can't figure it how you lose a rifle, I would have bought them a new one. Now if I'd "lost" someone's gun, I actually wouldn't do that because if someone stole one of my guns I'd suggest they use it to remove themselves from the land of the living.

You might be a gun nut if.
Your computer passwords are all gun related.

I'm close - - - I'm 64 and have every firearm I've ever owned except 3 that were stolen and 1 that I loaned out and never got back

1) loaned a Marlin 22 semi action rifle that I hunted squirrels with in High school the man claims he lost it.

2) Sears 22 semi action stolen from my truck while in High school

3) S&W model 66-1 serial # 9K5090 357 SS

4) S&W model 22A1 serial # UBP8757 nice little trainer

I would sure love to get at least the last 2 back - - - they have been reported to local Sheriff’s Dept. - - - I carried the 66-1 as a duty weapon for about 5 years.
Even back then I knew enough to have told the guy that my gun that he lost was getting reported stolen and that he was the last one to have possession of it would be in the report to the police. That ought to jar his memory.

Yes. Wait. No. But I'll tell you something if you keep it to yourself.
Back in '69 when I had a tow business in New England, I pulled an Odsmobile out of the drink on the Vineyard.

A few years later some friends and I DECIDED to take a late night stroll through a nice condo called The Watergate just to check it out. Well, I had to take a leak so I ducked into a stairwell.I found I was locked out so I had to go all the way down to the first floor. I was tired, so I went home. Boy did my friends get in trouble over that!

A few years later, while in D.C. on business, I tried to talk a casual friend out of giving a Central American waterway away to a foreign country. Of course he didn't listen.
Soon after he was fired from a pretty good job. I still hear from him occasionally, but it's usually to put the touch on me for building money.

Another time I tried helping a friend out doing some legwork for him. Months of travel between the Mid East and Central America.
The Colonel still won't return my calls.

Then there was the time I helped my minister, Mr. Baker, by hiring a Secretary for him.
Tammy Faye never forgave me for that!

Feeling pretty under appreciated, I Decided to travel a bit, but eventually ended up back in D.C. and partying with a good old boy I'd met in Arkansas a while back.
I kept telling him that just because he was the boss, he couldn't do whatever he wanted to do, whenever he felt like it.
Did he listen? No. But at least he didn't get fired.
Well, hanging out with "Bill" got me introduced to couple of golfers down in Hobe Sound, Florida. But those stories will have to wait for another time.

Oh. Pathological liars? Nope. Never met one.
