My current wife discovered a brake line leak on her car one night about 10 years ago. She told me about it 2 days later when she ran out of brake fluid, and added transmission fluid to get home. Long story short, I rode the bike to work, and she drove my truck while I replaced everything from the master cylinder to the calipers and wheel cylinders. Every hose and seal in the system was shot. On the bright side, I found a local source for rebuilt brake proportioning valves. Now she asks me BEFORE adding anything not labeled as ________ fluid to see if it will cause problems. Wish she had learned that earlier.
