I've hired people because of an interview.

Whether I would grant someone an interview or not depends on the degree and the job. I wouldn't for someone with an online degree in neurosurgery. I would for someone who had an online degree in history for an analyst's position.

Look into liberty university online they are where I go. They gave me a lot of credits for my military training plus it's a conservative Christian school so the instructors don't spout a bunch of left wing garbage out at you. Are you gonna start while still in the military using TA or are you waiting till you get out?

In gonna start while I'm in. Basically when I get settled down in NC I'll enroll. My goal is to have my degree finished while I'm still active.

It was time for a new signature. This is what you get.

Yeah use that TA while you can then when you get out use your post 9-11 because that bah really helps not only that apply for fafsa and only accept the pell grants because 9-11 pays your full tuition any thing else gets defaulted to you so not only do I get my bah I get like $5500 refunded to me each semester

Yeah the plan is to finish my BA while active, using TA, if possible. If I don't finish it, I'll get out and get a different job (hence my thread about Logistics) while going to school under my GI Bill.

Good tip about the Pell Grant.

I would really like to finish my degree while I'm in, though. Having it would make me more appealing to employers and thus I'd be more likely to get the type of job I'm looking for. Then later I could use my GI Bill for a Masters degree, if I so choose.

Sean, I guess because of my age, I had experiences (not good) with several folks that had online degrees when they were a new thing.

My son has taken several graduate courses from University of Wyoming extension service and he seems well pleased with them.

Perhaps they have the less than stellar online programs cleaned up now. I''ve been retired for 16 years, so perhaps I'm not current on education. But as I said, it would be only one factor among many.

Some of the biggest clowns I have ever known had degrees out the wazoo! I would look for a self starter, someone who was interested in moving up and helping my business grow.
Someone who wasn't on face-book and twitter all day long. Someone who exhibited moral character and integrity.
Take a good man and you can teach him your business take an educated fool to help you lose your business.

A Degree in History and Political Science will prepare you for the best jobs in America. You could become a Senator or even President.

Hey Pasquanel, I bet an educated fool designed your computer.

Haha........funny you should say that. My oldest son wanted to major in Poli Sci but decided the only jobs he'd really qualify for was running for office and decided he couldn't play those lyin', cheatin' games. He changed his major.
