It's not really a weird rivet gun, it just has many different attachments for different types of rivets.

cleco type of temporary fasteners?

Looks like there is a patent number (can't make it out).
Also says #$%^&*() engineering.

you dont insert rivets. you insert threaded rivets into bolts.
the bolt you see in the gun has no hole to slide a rivet into. it has threads.
