im thinking something to do with a jig saw bit.....? the key pin moves very easily.

Blade holder, hacksaw. Blade fits in slot, pin thru hole in blade, threaded end of the shank goes thru frame of saw, wingnut tightens on shaft, pulling blade taut.

Looks way too big for a hack saw, maybe a bow saw? Though I am not convinced it is for a saw.

the end closest to the handle would have to have a means to thread into the handle or stay stationary. and the other end would have to have a wing nut to give it tension.
im not convinced.
