Low end hard ware to pull two pieces together , long counter top , legs to table aprons etc. . That ball like thing , it's threaded and pulls pieces together..!
all pieces milled on blind side so you can't see them..!

The one on the right is complete , need both rings with milled pieces to pull together.!

Better yet , I can splain it.! The two rings are the same dia. , the threaded screw like piece , is under 1/2" dia.! The width of the rings is approx. , 1/2wide also , or deep cause they are meant to be used with 3/4" material , ply wood , solid wood.!

Take two pieces of 3/4"material and but them together.!

Take complete hardware piece , the one with two rings , and open it ti it's fullest, lay hardware piece fully ope and mark rings with pencil on wood.!

Take that hardware piece and reverse it , fully "pulled"or rings closest together with the adjustment ball ,!

Again , with two 3/4" pieces you have marked full open , now lay hardware on same spot and mark the rings with pencil fully pulled or closed

Choose proper Forstner drill bit to get reasonable whole to loosely drop rings
Slightly deeper than thickness of rings.! Where you drill these holes , split the difference of fully open and full closed on each of the pieces to be pulled together. This gives enough play to get rings into holes and have enough play to easily drop hardware into.!

You now have one left , one right with holes to accommodate rings.!
You now with maybe , a router , with 1/2" bit and same depth as ring holes , connect the the two holes +extra length so you can accommodate length +.! Must pay attention on how hardware adjusts , will be longer on adjustment ball side and this must be planned for while milling.! Best to use drill press as to control depth of ring holes as not to drill through and ruin pretty side , all milling
Must be done on blind side and attention to depth is a must.!
