A humidor?

Perhaps a ventilated gun case?

A pet carrier?

Maybe it's the mobile petrie dish holder for the

half-baked justifications the DNC cooks up?

I've been playing for 48 years and I've never seen an amp case like that. It is an interesting theory about the cooling, but my concern then would be humidity. I won't tell you it isn't an amp case, and I can't tell what else it might be.

My first thought was a case for an IBM field tech's test rig from way way back but from what I am seeing the test rig would need a bigger case than what you have.

Probably not a guitar amp unless its a home made conversion. But there were tons of portable amplifiers and speaker cabs for other uses. Portable reel to reel recorder? Portable public address system?

A lot of test kit were powered by vacuum tubes back then, too. So that's a possibility.

The vents are a pretty sure sign that there were vacuum tubes inside and that looks like a 1/4" jack which is common to audio applications.

Is there anything inside?

It's for cat smuggling, terrorists use them when cats are trained to take out the secret agents.

Primer- ROFLMAO- you just reminded me of one afternoon in Hilo HI. Watched a gent CASUALLY trying to board a flight over to Maui. Fighting roosters very popular in hawaii- guy had a briefcase with holes drilled in it, trying to bring it as a carry-on item.

Briefcase was CROWING!
