knew what a swage was.
im still not sold on it being for that though. the pin would pull out.

That was a guess by looking at it. I am pretty sure you would thread a wire through the cotter pin eye, slip the threaded ferrule over it, tighten the nut around the ferrule, and spread the cotter pin legs to hold it all in place. I just don't know the application.

I'm stumped too!

Is the black threaded sleeve metalic or non-metalic? Best guess on material?

Is the black threaded sleeve threaded through or does it have unthreaded internal shoulder?
