Ok I bought a Winchester 30/30 and the front grip and butt stock on it are loose and I have tightend all of the screws and it's still not fixed and my son is worried to shoot with this gun because of this reason so any help would be nice

Exactly how loose are they, the forearm on mine does have a little play in it. If its real loose I'd take them off and check for any cracks, if there are no cracks, check the fit to the gun and the screw holes, they might have worn around the screws so its not as tight

There is a crack it is really close to the reciver

The screws could be too long, and bottoming out before they are tight.

Is it an older rifle? Could the wood have shrunk with age? Perhaps a good coating of stock oil will swell the stock back to the original proportions.
