I think it may have just ran its course.......Just go get the ding-dang thing....After she runs a couple mags thru it, you wont be able to get the smile off her face, and you will have to go buy her one....

Man, where have you been? After she runs a few mags thru it,

she'll latch on to it like an Abalone, and you'll have to get another

one for yourself...

actually my wife just doesn't care about shooting my AR. she has shot it a few times, but not her cup of tea. she doesn't care about the bolt actions either. but she loves my Marlin Model 60 and the lever actions! and the shotguns? she likes the pumps, but has no interest in the O/U at all. she does like most of the pistols and she is a decent shot too.

I don't like bolt actions, either.

My wife does not like most my long guns. The one she does like best is a Savage MKII 22lr bolt gun. All the 22's here and that's the one she likes.
Ah...More ammo for me

What's wrong with liking that Savage. I think it's a great choice.

So you just started liking bolt guns? Hum the old John Anderson tune "She Just Started Liking Cheatin' Songs" as you read.

Whether or not it's an "assault rifle" (it's not) seems to be a moot point due to her being convinced it is. I like the suggestions of the mini 14 (great firearm) and the like. But you seem intent on the AR so I won't recommend something that ends in not having an AR.

Key phrase in her denial - "an assault rifle". Now I tend to be a literal person, and my understanding is she isn't saying no to multiple (can't figure out how to bold on mobile or I totally would on "multiple") ARs in the house.

Now as for why she isn't against multiple (again, imagine I bolded that) ARs I don't know; I'm no mind reader. Could be any number of things from wanting one for each of you, to thinking things should come in pairs, etc.

In short, buy two.

P.S. I saw no budget listed.

P.P.S. In the event that buying two plus her making purchases in the same amount is out of the question due to price - simply buy both, keep the one for yourself and gift the other to her (in lieu of her making purchases in the same amount). Then you both get a nice new precious.

***DISCLAIMER*** I never said this was wise and as such am not suggesting it.

Personally, I don't like bolt rifles. But I don't see any problem with your wife liking bolt action rifles. I should let her shoot my Henry. She'll change her mind. LOL
