I think most any war vet can tell us stories of bravery and courage. I can think of many that I admire for what they have done and it's not something that would ever make the newspapers. There are heroes everywhere.

Dang, that would be cool. Now I want to see Mr. Rogers with his shirt off.

Folks, there are more legends out there than you can shake a stick at.

Don Knotts was not a USMC DI. He was drafted into the US ARMY in 1943. He was an entertainer before being drafted, was assigned to a special services unit (NOT Special Forces). Unit entertained the troops in the Pacific theatre.

However, take a look at (Commando) David Niven, (General) Jimmy Stewart, and any number of others.

Speaking of Special Forces....

The late actress/comedian Martha Raye, was made an honorary member of the Special Forces units because she spent great lengths of time entertaining the units and often assisted in helping the wounded in Viet Nam, using her training as a nurse.

"She received her Green Beret and title of Lieutenant Colonel from President Lyndon Johnson. Nicknamed “Colonel Maggie” by the troops, she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest commendation for civilians, in 1993. In honor of her service to the military special exception was made to policy so that she could be buried in the military cemetery at Fort Bragg."

Martha Raye (1916 - 1994) - Find A Grave Memorial

HOOAH!

I wonder when this story will finally die a deserved death.

I know there are many people out there like that, it's just the thought of Mr. Rogers being a highly trained SEAL and then turning into a quiet, calm man who no one would ever suspect had ever even been in a fist fight before that I think would be amazing. I know there are probable several people out there that have done this, and they are truly heros.

Troll going away- ModWhat?
