Seems like a lot of us MS boys leave and then come back. Must be something to it.

Me, I spent 4 years in the service and then a couple more bouncing around the country, but MS is always home.

When I left in 1986 things were different than when I got back. One thing was not many shotgun houses. I guess that's a good thing. The building boom was in full bloom. Everyone leaving Memphis. I never seen so many Mcmansions in all my life. Especially in MS hill country.

I love central Florida. I moved here to teach. Taught 22 years and retired. Too many yankees and old people here. They can get on your nerves at times. Hey, wait, I am an old person. Well, I guess I fit right in. As far as the weather goes, you can't beat it. I will never live in cold climates again.

After 38 years living in "The Peoples Republic of Illinois", I retired and had to move to a free state. With Kalifornia, New York and Washington D.C. as off the list, we decided to stay somewhat close to our children, still victims of TPRI, and uprooted to Tennessee. Shortly after arriving here in TN, had the wife slap the back of my neck a few dozen times, switched the Angle Soft for corn cobs, and now I fit in fine.

I just love the freedom and low taxes in this state. No state income taxes. Getting along with the neighbors means not turning up your nose at opossum belly, raccoon, etc. when invited over for vittles

I'm back in MS after living about ten years or so in Memphis, TN. I think i prefer Memphis, but the rural south has its advantages. In Memphis, a person could be almost invisible in their anonimity, but down here, not only do people know me by name or sight, they know my whole family. That can get tiresome sometimes.

I plan to move again in the next year or so, but i will probably stay in the state or this area of the country.

I live in the greater memphis area abd Corky's and rendezvous aren't What people crack them up to be, but those Peabody ducks sure do look mighty delicious!

But if you want the Memphis barbeque everybody talks about, come down here in may for barbeque-fest. Musicfest is also on the weekend before and is also something to see, Memphis in may is like a second holiday season for us lol
