I prefer open carry simply because it acts as a deterrent. Who the hell is gonna try to mug someone they can see is carrying a gun. On a side note, those of you that criticize OC are no better than the gun grabbers for only supporting rights if they are exercised in a way that you approve. Seriously we should be supporting everyone's right and every way that those rights can be exercised.

Im all for open carry. How can you tell who is carrying just for attention and who is carrying for protection? Do they have a funny look on their face or something?

Your post is full of what ifs. Thats fine for speculating, but in the real world, the only thing that matters is what actually happens. There are extremely few cases of LAC's being attacked because they were open carrying.

As for the cop thing, is that how they do it in the UK? Shoot law abiding citizens just for openly carrying a gun? In the US, if an officer did that, he'd be facing murder charges.

I usually CC but at times don't. Depends on the situation. I don't worry about printing either. I don't care what a single human on the planet cares about me or what I do. Way to secure in myself and my judgement on things. I'm far from infallible as I have been married twice so that shows you I make horrible mistakes. LOL

Back to topic though. I can't find a single instance of somebody grabbing a gun from somebody and useing it against them. Probably has happened though. Then again a guy trying to get his gun out from under his shirt probably has gotten some one killed or hurt. Carry how you want that is lawful in your area and don't push the issue so we all look stupid.

For comfort by the way I prefer OC.

I think the public argument against OC is primarily coming from those who are themselves cautious about OCing and who are trying to prevent N00bs from undertaking what is thought to be an unnecessary risk to their safety and convenience. I think most of us are cautious about OC due to a lack of familiarity with it. That said, it will be legal in MS as of July 1st, and I don't see me using it unless absolutely needed.

The only thing I see why people are anti OC, is there are way to many people afraid of the "bad" guns and will call the police. I wouldn't want to be stopped every time I'm OCing!! Wasting my time because the media and the government have the people so afraid of firearms!! This is just my opinion.

Maybe they should promote happy pink/hi-vis pink "hello kitty" thigh holsters?

The ones doing it for attention are usually behind a camera!

And that's a very valid concern. There are tons of places where, if I saw someone OCing, my likely comment would be, "are you ****ing kidding me?"

It's definitely not a carry method that's suitable for everyone and every locale.
