Default Why..........?

Just another pointless night in the old folks home . Lester in his late sixties lie in his bed with chronic lung ailments and his roomy Charles seventy to the day , with bone degeneration to the point of being a prisoner to his own bed . Every day Lester would gaze out the window and smile.
Charles would look at him and ask ," tell me , what do you see ? " Old Charles , could not even much lift his head to see out the window . Lester , " I see the sky in all it's glory , birds of beautiful color and the trees swaying in the light breeze".
These reports had become the highlight of Charles's days . For weeks it continued and was the most pleasurable moments of poor Charles's dwindling life . Again , " tell me , what do you see "? And Lester , " I see white puffs of clouds in the debths of blue and squirrels dancing from tree to tree as children frolic and play ! It's so beautiful Charlie " !
Many weeks had passed and one morning , Charles awoke to find the bed next to the window empty where Less had been . The nurse entered the room and Charles inquired " where is Less " ? The nurse responded , " I am so sorry , he passed in his sleep last night " !
Charles , with tears in his eyes , " can I please have the bed next to the window , Less's bed " ? The nurse replied " yes , you may " . With help from the orderly ,
She managed to get Charles tucked away into the bed , Less's bed and peered out the window . To his shock , looking out the window , all he saw was brick and cold Mortor ! " Nurse , it's a wall , a wall " ! " where is all the beauty less said was out the window " ? What did Less see "? The nurse , confused , looked at Charles and said " Lester was blind , I don't understand " ?
Charles looked out the window and all he could do is wonder !

Why.......WHY.........?.....!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

That was one depressing story.

I tend to think its the "mind" of the beholder. Some people look at a forest and get depressed because they can't see the landscape for all the d%^&N trees in the way....

Life is indeed what we choose to make of it.

Choose a good life.

This is not a dress rehearsal.

Am I the only one who goes hunting, and still has a great

day, even if I don't bag any game? Thank you,

Lord, for the beautiful wonders of nature.

Not at all. I'm going hunting in a few weeks in texas and if all I see is trees I will be happy. Its not about getting a biggun its about spending time with my mom and dad

Amen JonM and thewolf, thats truely what life is about. I'm glad to see others that "get" the concept the same way I do. Makes me hopeful that maybe others will grow into this enlightened viewpoint some day....

Its just needs enough good role models to sell it....

Many years back, a hunting companion shot a nice 3X3 bull elk.

That was my lucky years, as I happened onto a very large 6X6.

He griped halfway home about not finding anything "better" than a 3X3.

I finally got tired of listening to it and I offered to trade him the antlers from my 6X6 for the meat from his 3X3.

I've never heard him bitch about a kill since.

A couple of the best hunting trips that I've ever been on, I got no meat to bring home, but the memories were priceless.
