Good answer ! I loaned a guy some money to feed his kids , he lost his job .
I was willing to let him work it off cutting wood . Two weeks go buy and I call him . He says he hurt his back and can't help . I try too negotiate and get and visit from the police . They tell me I am being served a" no contact order" !

No phone , no contact of any kind . Yo , am I stupid , he said I was harassing him . He got me !

Damn!

that truly sucks pond scum for sure.

sounds like a deadbeat. and sorry it happened, but it does happen. i have been the victim of sob stories in the past as well, and that's why i'm a cynic these days.

trust but verify brother Dango.

Everyone loses money once in a while. You could have bought a POS gun at a show, contributed to a bogus charity, or simply gambled the money away. Write it off as the "get screwed" allowance, and put it behind you. And you may have earned points upstairs, who knows.

Good advice again ! I am over it . It can get mighty lonely up here with nobody to turn to when one needs help , the word is out !

THIS......Dad always told us you really only have 3 things in this life that cant be taken from you...

1. Your education...Once it's in there, its yours for keeps

2. People that really, truly love you....You will meet many people, you will have many friends. But the people that really, truly love you in your lifetime can probably be counted on one hand...And...know the difference between "relatives" and " family ".

3. Your word / reputation....Your handshake should be stronger than any signed contract...Once you have lost that, you are at a serious disadvantage.

Dad is old school.....Just thinking about him today, and how lucky i am to have him...

This just proves you are a far better man then he is. Let that be your reward. And he just cut off his lifeline if he ever needs help again.

Winds, what is sad is that some of us have been burned a few times and now have a huge amount of distrust and that includes myself.

i have heard just about every sob story there is over the years. i use to be a sucker for them. not anymore.

Man - now that just sucks. All I can say is, you did what you believed was good and right and you will be repaid for it somehow someway and may not even realize it. Same with that guy, he will get his just due, sounds like he is already on the road to it.
