Preston Tucker, Henry Ford, and Carlos Hathcock. That covers famous.
My Father in Law. He died the year before my wife and I started dating. He was a Korean War veteran. My friend's Grandfather who was a D-Day survivor. Or my other friend's grandfather who was a Windtalker in the Pacific theater. Sadly he is the only one of those three still alive.
I did once have the honor of having a drink with two WWII vets at the local VFW. One was ex-Army, one was ex- Marine Corps. The Army vet recieved a CMH while over in Europe. I never asked what he did to get it, but I have fond memoris of that evening, and some hilarious stories from their service that still make me laugh til I hardly breathe. I miss those guys, but they're in a better place. Cheers guys, and thank you both.
If I have to explain why I ride, you wouldn't understand. Explaining sex to an alien would be easier than explaining the feeling, one that boils all that is going on in your life down to what really matters each time you are in The Wind. All I can say is, Life is not Life without it.
