I used to race at at a local track in CT all the time as a kid, the place was around the corner from my house. I ended up getting back into it for a while when I was mid 20's. dangerous to have hobbies when you are also making $$$

Remember when the TCR sets came out in the late 70's? You could hit a button on the controller and the cars could change lanes.

Ahhh, I love the smell of reostat speed controllers in the morning...

There was nothing like the acceleration of a 1/24 scale car on 50 foot straight at the local slot car track. Don't forget the cars with the wheelie bars that would stand up and go.

Yeah the white one was a 65' Corvette and the red one was a Ferrarri. I had the red Ferrarri one and my brother had the white Corvette. Those 1/32 scale cars would go like a stripped arsed ape.

I too had a real 1965 Corvette in the 1970's and sold it to help with a down payment on my first new home in 1979. Wife was ecstatic with that home but I think at times she missed that convertable 'Vette more than I did.

My dad got me into the hobby when I was 12 I'm 27 now. My dad grew up in Parma town ohio. As you can remember Parma was the leader in slot car stuff. To my knowledge there are a few tracks locally near me and I still own all my slot cars
