Default Where do I post this?

Mods, feel free to move this to the appropriate section.

I'm doing work on a knife, and I'm thinking I want to try one of those Wal-Mart bluing kits for the blade when it's done.

I'd post this in Other Weapons, but it's also a customizing thing that's not traditionally done on knives.

Does anyone have experience with bluing for this particular application?

And you cuttin' men, is this remotely practical?

Lend your thoughts, my friends.

Why bluing? Just for looks? For a show kinda knife...maybe look good if it works with the metal you are using. Actually using the kife..not something I would like for a utility knife. Seriously, why??

Kinda for a presentation piece, but it would have to be functional as well, and I can't Parkerize.

Carbon steel, so anything would protect it more than it already is, my friend.
