That's no joke. A shot of whiskey before bed sometimes helps a little, but not very much

Yeah I find alcohol is a double edged sword. Sometimes it helps sometimes it makes matters worse.

It definitely can, a single shot doesn't seem to aggravate me usually though

If I drink a lot I usually sleep on the couch. Otherwise I will wake my girl up .

My recurring night mare is that my ex-wife was at the front door wanting me to take her back

My reoccurring dream has been happening since right before I deployed to Iraq. My unit was in a convoy, we started taking fire so we pulled into a "herringbone" formation on the road and got out. My buddy and I dismount from the humvee and start laying down fire in the direction that were taking fire. We run into position and as I go to get into the prone position, the view then goes from being first person to third person outside of my body. Everything goes silent, and then I hear one gunshot, then the bullet comes into view, and then it trails the bullet all the back to me, through the front of my head and out the back of my kevlar. It's woken me up many a times needless to say.

I have other reoccurring dreams, but that's really the only one that I want to share, I'll leave it at that.

**Edit - Crazy enough, after I EAS'd from the Marines, I came across the guy that was in my dream online. I finally had the nerve to tell him about it, and he actually has/had the identical dream. We don't get it, not gonna question it either, we made it back, that's what matters to us.

Try taking the safety off.

I don't have recurring dream, or many dreams at all. The ones I do have are either disturbing, weird, or just plain crazy.

I've had that dream! My dad once had that day, which is how I got my first deer. He didn't even have his wallet with him! Oops.

My reoccuring dream is of a drunk driving accident that almost killed me, and did kill my passenger. I was sober, but the guy who hit us was almost 3X the legal limit. I spent four months in the hospital, had to have 3 knee surgeries, and underwent facial reconstruction over the next two years. I have this gem of a nightmare about 4-6 times a month, more often when I am under stress. I have forgotten what 6 hours, much less 8 hours of sleep feels like. This has gone on for the last 20 years. Kind of explains why my average post times are between 2 and 5 A.M. if you think about it.

My daughter turns 16 in 10 months. I wonder how I'll sleep then?

I know you were kidding... But I started having this dream decades before I ever even fired a gun. Even now, the only difference is that I am trying to shoot guns I actually own and know.
