What is your opinion to this video? Serious
Gonna be honest....
Ive kept an eye on JY on and off for the last 2 years or so. He is pretty radical (as we all recently saw) but incredibly consistent and honest...with himself and his followers. Some of the things he promotes are not my cup of tea....some of it stings a bit because I feel like if I were in a room with him, he would try to boil me down to see if I was worthy or a coward. He reminds of me of Sgt Hartman from the movie FMJ.
But, This particular video has made my cranks turn. I want you all to watch it and give your HONEST opinion. I dont want anyone answering legal questions on a forum...but simply say if you AGREE or DISAGREE with his response.
PART 1:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPkARaCVqFo&feature=youtu.be
PART 2:
The day I decided to buy my first gun....I knew it would change my life. I bought it to defend myself and my family...or any loved ones near me. At first I played the hero scenario in my head....then over the years I learned to be more passive and responsible and less of a hero....because the legal system doesnt always reward a hero. After watching this video I am now feeling somewhere in between. That maybe I should realize that the reason I carry a gun, is because if I feel like I'm in a serious threat that puts my life or my family's life in jeopardy that I'm going to blow somebody's face off....even if it means stepping outside of the safe zone. With all the thousands of rounds Ive shot and scenarios Ive played in my mind...I havent actually come to terms with that part of it. This video makes it more real. We need to be prepared to do that, or else we shouldnt carry.
What do you guys think of this video?

I've watched the video. And although Yeager has taken some flack lately about his stance on guns, the 'sheepish era' we live in needs someone like Yeager to shake us awake. Kudos to him. As for this particular video my feelings corroborates in balance with my instinctive behavior, and that is I carry to protect my family and myself; and, needless to say, any female in danger (having already saved a young girl once from 4 black rapists in NYC). If I came across two men shooting it out I walk on. If I came across someone shooting into the crowd at a theatre, mall, restaurant or school, I take him out.

I thought that was a common feeling amongst ccw holders... Maybe I'm wrong.

I think I am more in line with what you responded with PB.
Although it doesnt align exactly to what JY says in this video....I will not go far out of my way to be a hero. but if the fight comes within reach of me, my family or anyone around me with a possibility of me stopping or slowing a mortal threat...I will step up and pray that my instincts, judgement and accuracy all work together.
My issue, and again I have to tread lightly here being on a public forum...is that I still have not committed 100% to carrying certain places because of legal issues. I am really struggling with this one. I might have to just slowly integrate it and see how it plays out.
He is a VERY headstrong guy who reacts first and thinks later...I am the opposite. I have to think about the financial consequences against myself and my family if I cross the legal line as far as carrying and get caught. The flip side is....me being unarmed in the wrong situation could result in death which is much worse.

The day you decide to buy a gun , you accept a certain responsibility..!
The day you decide to carry that gun , you take on the whole realm of possibilities and the responsibility that goes with it..!
If you can't come to terms with this , you should not carry.....!

Yes if you are not prepared to use your gun don't carry it.
A friend of mine posted this on Fakebook
http://www.npr.org/2013/01/29/170456129/armed-good-guys-and-the-realities-of-facing-a-gunman?utm_source=npr&utm_medium=facebook&utm_camp aign=20130129
He post a lot of anti gun garbage and I confront him on each one.
I asked him after this post however "so you are for people carrying guns now?"
His reply "No I'm justy sharing the story In reality more often than not An untrained person with a gun would in most cases just cause way more casaulties.
I say back " that is not how the story reads. I find nothing in it that suggest that fact. It is saying if you draw your gun you have a chance of being shot, which you would of had before you drew your gun. The probability rises, and most people that carry a gun accept that fact. If I can risk my life to save even one other it would be worth it to me. Mr. McKown accepts that and does not regret what happened because nobody died after he did what he did. He potentially stopped many others from being harmed." No reply...hour later...more anti gun garbage.

I think he makes very valid points on an active scene.

I don't agree with his statement 'I carry a gun to shoot a mother****er in the face'.
I carry a gun to defend things, like life, property and health. If I pull a gun and the attack stops, then there is zero need to shoot that person. If the attack does not stop, then I'm running the mag dry, but I don't carry to shoot someone.
