The Searchers, True Grit, Stagecoach, his Cav. films. And more I cant recall,
And he always had great supporting cast actors.
But to be honest,
some of his movies, are to me, unwatchable.

And Ben Johnson, Great.

the half hour versions were called Marshall Dillon, and they changed the name to Gunsmoke when the transitioned to the hour long show.

many actors in John Wayne movies played in several or many with him. Maureen O'Hara, Ben Johnson, Ken Curtis, Victor McLaglen, Bruce Cabot, Harry Carrey Sr. and Jr. Patrick Wayne, Ward Bond, plus many more that i know their faces but not their names. many of these also were from the time when John Ford was still a director and had many of them in many of his movies.

I love Gunsmoke. A lot of actors cut there teeth and helped pay the bills with that show. Bruce Dern, Lee Van Cleef, DeForest Kelley, Jack Klugman, Martin Landau, Cloris Leachman, George Lindsey, Diane Ladd, Harry Morgan, Bruce Boxleitner, Leonard Nimoy, Nick Nolte, Katharine Ross, Jack Elam, William Devane, Angie Dickinson, Jodie Foster....the list goes on.

Wagon Train and Rawhide provided stepping stones for many actors. Rowdy Yates became Clint Eastwood.

The best western whore movie would have to be a Cheyenne Social Club.

It's not a movie just yet, but the Gunslinger/Dark Tower series by Stephen King.. It's now an 8 book series, and Ron Howard is in the process of adapting it to film..
