The guns in my house, when not in my personal possession, are locked in a large gun safe, which is bolted into floor and the frame of the house. When I'm not home, the safe is locked and I'm carrying the key. If anyone breaks into my house looking for guns, they better bring some heavy duty equipment along.

As to pet peaves, mine is a variation of the "Yahoo". The ones who come to the range for one reason only, to prove to the world that they are the coolest dudes in town. They are loud, obnoxious, and do everything they can to attract attention to themselves. They'll pull out their AR's or the AK's and a sack full of loaded mags. Then they'll proceed to shoot as fast they possibly can, rarely hitting anything. After every mag, they'll step back and look around to see if anyone is watching.

Well at the moment H&K at least in part is being manufactured in my part of the world Newington NH and Sig Sauer is in the process of moving here as we speak.
My Taurus PT1911 is made in the USA as is my Mill Pro! My Beretta PX 4 Storm sub compact is made in the USA as is my Ruger LCP and LC9 none of which I consider junk! So your friends point was

I know my location shows as S. ME but I'm on the NH border and only sleep in "vacationland" buy, sell, work, eat and play in NH.

He is an asshat...I think thats his point. I cant even count the times that he has told me anything made by Ruger, S&W, or Colt isnt worth the metal they are made of. Or that the 1911 is a worthless platform.

I completely agree with you. I love American made guns. I own many American made guns and I love them. They run flawless even after thousands of rounds through them

Absolutely! I wholeheartedly agree with your post. My guns are secured the same way and I also have a problem with the "yahoos" who come to the range to draw attention. I don't mean to generalize or stereotype but quite often these yahoos are wearing camouflage from head to toe.

I have shot with someone like that a couple times. Little did he know we were all laughing at him. He did exactly as you said. He'd shoot rapid fire until his gun/rifle was empty then look around at us with a stupid grin on his face.

Taurus? Really?
Don't Glock & H&K have US factories? SIG too, IIRC? Among others.
All sorts of companies make all sorts of guns. Why get all hung up on origin?
My personal take on the European superiority question? Just because a company has higher prices doesn't make their product special. All other things being equal, european products are going to cost more. That doesn't mean they are better. Just that socialist europe is a very expensive place to build things. Are European products better? I guess it depends on the product in question. Mercedes Benz has fallen down a bit in recent years because their electronic wizardry has been less that stunning in it's reliability. Secondly, have you ever driven a Fiat? Durable as a wet paper sack and just about as exciting. How many different models does BMW build in the US these days? How many VWs are built in Mexico? There is nothing magical about european manufacture or design.
The Superiority of European design & manufacture is mostly marketing hype. H&K and the other makers build some fine weapons. But there is no magic fairy dust in the steel or polymer.

How about people who ask you "want me to show you how to shot that thing?" Or they ask if you know how to clean it.
Another is when your at the range and you do a few rapid fires then some one next to unloads 20 rounds as fast as they can and looks to see if you noticed afterwards.
