For those of you that have never considered- at one time- YOUR parents were teenagers-
Mom was being courted by two boys- my Dad- and his rival- who lived just up the road from Mom. Well, Mom decided that she liked Dad best- and that
he was the one that could come to call on her. She was 16, Dad was 17.
Out in the country back then you walked, rode a horse, or rode in a buggy if you were well to do- which Dad was not- so most evenings, he would walk past his rival's house, on his way to call on Mom- singing this at the top of his lungs.
