You are right about that!! One time I saw a 4 piece louge band cover Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" including the operatic vocal break perfectly on a Carnival ship's lounge!!

We took a 7 day out of Ft. Lauderdale to Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Martin on Royal Carribean's Allure of the Seas... it was an extended family vacation for my father-in-laws' 80th b-day... and yes the ship is absolutely massive!!

It had 2 rock climbing walls, 2 wave riders (1 for boogie and the other for surf boards), mini-golf, basketball court, zip-line, 8 hot tubs (4 forward, 4 aft) 4 pools and a water park, a full size English pub (I liked that one!! ), casino, 7 lounges/nightclubs, a theater in the front bow, 15+ places to eat (3 of the 24/7), gym with running/walking track (2.4 times around was 1 mile!!) a park in the center of it (yes, with live shrubs & trees), a boardwalk with an aqua-theater off the rear of this floating city... AND an ice rink (my son LOVED that last one because he could get his skate practices in!!!) .. For the doubters here reading; https://www.google.com/search?q=allure+of+the+seas+photos&espv=210&es_sm= 93&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=OzTpUsioIvGg sQSPuYGQCQ&ved=0CEYQsAQ&biw=1277&bih=683#imgdii=_
Personally, it was an experience I will remember, but in all honesty, I would not want to be on something this size (that moves) again. Too many people and too crowded on days at sea.. It was difficult to get proper information about times and reservations needed for events.. and my biggest grip.. only TWO banks of elevators (?!?!? ) for something this size?? THAT (IMHO) was a major design flaw... but whatcha' gonna do about now?? Darn thing is built and floating. IF I do another cruise I would prefer to be on a smaller more intimate ship that can have more port options open to it (Panama Canal, Belize, Canadian Maratines, etc).. But for now I would rather travel the U.S. if given the choice ... I still haven't been to Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore or 2 dozen other places on my bucket list!!

I don't think I would care to go one one of those big cruise ships. Much prefer a much, much smaller vessel that can get into the tiny harbors where people don't normally go. Always wanted to cruise the South Pacific like that with no schedule and no calendar.
