yep!

Ronnie Van Zant was the brother with Lynard Skynard. who died with several other in the plane crash.

Donnie Van Zant was with 38 Special which formed up after the break-up of Lynard Skynard after the death of Ronnie Van Zant. IIRC, a couple of the original members of Lynard Skynard were the formative members of 38 Special.

many years ago Johnny Van Zant had his own band called the Johnny Van Zant Band. he and his brother formed the band Van Zant several years ago and both play with the new Lynard Skynard band as well.

and the God and Guns album is pretty damn good!

I know. Johnny (Skynyrds current frontman) is more country than either of his two brothers, and I like it. Of course the original Ronnie Van Zant skynyrd was better, but the new skynyrd is really good too.

Albert Cummings - Barrelhouse Blues. If you haven't heard him before, you can find a bunch of his stuff on YouTube.

Led Zeppelin and Buddy Guy.....in about 1/2 hour, honored at the Kennedy Center! CBS

EDIT: If you get a chance to see this tribute somehow, if it's re-broadcasted...it was very cool. Foo Fighters, Kid Rock, Lenny Kravitz, Ann and Nancy Wilson (Heart) all playing Zep tunes

An absolute must see for fans Led Zeppelin or hard rock of any kind. It's 21 minutes, but worth every second.

Great stuff Sonic! Thanks for sharing that. I am a huge Zeppelin fan, and saw them once in Philly in concert. I do think David Gilmore of Pink Floyd is a better guitar player then Jimmie Page though.

Before Sonic laid that great Zeppelin tribute on, I was listening to Dire Straits, "Brothers in Arms."

Dire Straits are great. The most patriotic song I've heard is done by Mark Knopfler

Sailing to Philadelphia

I am Jeremiah Dixon
I am a Geordie boy
A glass of wine with you, sir
And the ladies I'll enjoy
All Durham and Northumberland
Is measured up by my own hand
It was my fate from birth
To make my mark upon the earth

He calls me Charlie Mason
A stargazer am I
It seems that I was born
To chart the evening sky
They'd cut me out for baking bread
But I had other dreams instead
This baker's boy from the west country
Would join the Royal Society

We are sailing to Philadelphia
A world away from the coaly Tyne
Sailing to Philadelphia
To draw the line
A Mason-Dixon Line

Now you're a good surveyor, Dixon
But I swear you'll make me mad
The West will kill us both
You gullible Geordie lad
You talk of liberty
How can America be free
A Geordie and a baker's boy
In the forests of the Iroquois

Now hold your head up, Mason
See America lies there
The morning tide has raised
The capes of Delaware
Come up and feel the sun
A new morning has begun
Another day will make it clear
Why your stars should guide us here

We are sailing to Philadelphia
A world away from the coaly Tyne
Sailing to Philadelphia
To draw the line
A Mason-Dixon Line
