I live about 50 mi. from Nashvegas, they visions of grandure, so the radio is pretty much crappy country or kid (hip hop) type of sludge. But now that I'm back online and have Pandora, I'm finding there is still good music being made.
Three female singers I've recently found that I like are Imelda May, Melody Gardot, and Devil Doll. All blues orinted,Devil Doll is kind of 1960's Jersey bar scene, mean, angry stuff, Imelda may, I don't know, just like her. Of the three, Melody Gardot is probably the most traditional blues singer.
Don't know why I'm all of a sudden into chick music (maybe because there's so much bad stuff on the radio, it's just refreshing to hear something different), but it's pretty cool.
