Ice water. Other than my morning coffee and an occasional cup of strong Irish breakfast tea, that's about all I drink. Alcohol made me want to hang glide in elevator shafts, and caused me on one occasion to make a pass at a lady in her home, knowing that (a) her large husband was due home any minute, and (b) he collected and carried .44 Magnum revolvers.

I decided eventually (more or less at gunpoint) that it was a good idea for me to stop drinking...

Well I just finished my last one for this morning, Jim Beam with a splash of coke and just put out my cigar. The medical field says that drinking and smoking are bad for your health but it hasn't shortened my life any, I'm 75 and still above ground.

Last night I had a few Bischoff Weizen. I live in a brewery town. God spoils me with German beer.

That was last weekend after a social hunt. We each go around the table making a toast or telling a story then sing the Waidmannsheil song. Then we drink a shot of Jäger. There were a lot of hunters there! Waidmannsheil is a greeting we hunters say to each other. It means good hunting. On a successful hunt we say Waidmannsdunk. Hunters have their own language that goes back to the Middle Ages-Jagerspracht. Hunting was illegal for non-royals, so a secret language was invented so people can talk about their hunts in public.
