heat isn't the only problem in the south, it's the humidity that sucks the life out of you!

I've heard, thanks for reminding me. When it gets that hot does everyone just stay inside and sleep?

No, that's usually actually when we get the most work done. When the thermometer starts to get friendly with the 100 degree mark by 9 AM, that's when we start to take it a little easier. Many outdoor jobs switch to night shift, or start work by 3-4 AM so they can put in their 8 hour day before it gets too hot.

On our time off, we try to find a waterhole to jump in.

But anytime, night or day, hot or cold, dry or humid, a good single malt Scotch is the nectar of the angels!

Locutus, truer words were hardly ever spoken! There are some things that imply there really is a God: America, Glenfiddich, Bach's organ masterpiece Tocata and Fugue in D Minor, women...

heat doesn't really bother me. it's the humidity that does. i have been in West Texas, New Mexico and Arizona and have endured 110 degrees better than 80 degrees in East Texas and 100% humidity! dry heat i can handle, but just hate high humid conditions. might just be me, but it seems the higher the humidity, the more mosquitos there are!

That's probably true... I don't like feeling like I'm drowning every time I try to breath
