Do you have anything in your state such as Small Claims Court? No lawyers allowed in there, just the parties involved and judge. Otherwise, the cheapest way to consult a lawyer is a pre-paid plan like Hyatt Legal Plan or Pre-Paid Legal. Check all your options before making a move.
Actually yes we do. And to trip if I did my version of manning up I'd be in jail. I believe in karma but trust me I'm getting my money.

Well I ain't seen nothing but a bunch of panty wringing. Isn't a gun theft a felony? I know in the Marines it's immediate justification of deadly force (under the seven sins). I would think the police would take that a little more seriously if you've told them.

I saw where you were told to go to the magistrate's office and you've not yet done so, unless you have, and you haven't posted it. Then you file a complaint against the police department of course.

Face it, the only real thing you've gotten done so far is trying to beg the guy who ripped you off to begin with, to pretty please give you the money.

The more I read about the incident the stranger the story seems to me. Nothing here sounds feasible from the way the whole thing went down to how it was handled in the aftermath and the way it's still being handled. Sorry, but I sense that there's lots more to this story.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm flabbergasted, I mean, my flabber is completely ghasted, that the police refused to take a report of a stolen gun.

If the town cops didn't want to make the stolen gun report, I'da called the state cops.
