Go to the gas station and tell them you will need the video for a crime investigation, giving them the timeframe you need. Those recorders work on a loop so it records over top of the past recordings. Do it now and have your request in writing so they can't ignore it. Make sure copies go to all owners, managers, etc. Giving it to the dude behind thae counter is not going to get you anything.

Guess what ladies and gentleman the guy managed to call me and text me. He was saying it was an honest mistake and all that bull. So I said I'm going to court today and he said he has the money and will meet tonight. I'm going to go but I'm still getting the guns checked. Wil let you know how it goes.

That should have been the very first thing after the incident, but hope it works out for the best for you.

In my town the state troopers work day and night.

A phone call would have gotten you on the list in order of high priority. if your guns were then used in a crime, what would you say when they asked you why didn't you call them immediately?

Im just sayin'

http://www.hotgunz.com/

Can enter a serial and see if a gun was added this database. It's user powered though so it would be up to the person that had a gun stolen to hasve added it. Not as good as having LE check it but it's a handy tool none the less.

I'm not the most trusting of law enforcement involvement for simplifying a situation involving the sale of a firearm, BUT I would meet the guy at the cop shop and let them run his firearms numbers and yours before anybody leaves.

Usually, I don't concern myself with jumping through the hoops the feds have in place to make checking the theft status of a firearm more difficult, but this guy is way too shady. If I was in your spot and had the option, I would just swap back his guns for mine and do it at the cop shop with an officer present.

That would be a good idea. I think I'm just going to do that.
