Was it the comedian Jerry Clower that used the term "belly washer soda water" in his routines or was it Justin Wilson?

I grew up in CA and now live in AZ. Always known them as soda. My first trip to Michigan my buddy that lives there says "You want a pop?" I was like "What?" He said it three or four times and I never got it, then he finally says, "you know, like a Coke or something." I never knew until then that it was called pop in other places.

I guess I'm just used to replying to "What kind of Coke do you want?" with "Diet, Cherry, Vanilla, etc"

Grew up in Ohio. It was always pop. Anything else still sounds a little odd to me.

Honestly I haven't noticed what people here in the land of the heathens call it.

It was the same growing up in Florida, either coke or a "cold drink".

My daddy used to ask, "want a cold drink?"

Cold drink spoken col'drink.
