Default What are soft drinks called in your area?

Seems to be different everywhere, so what do you call 'em?

Edit: I meant to make it a public thread, but forgot to click the option

Forgot to post my answer.

Generally people call them "Cokes" around here, though "pop" is also common.

Grew up in Ohio calling it "pop". Started calling them "soda" as I started to travel. Working in the restaurant industry, I now refer to them as "soft drinks".

We call 'em soda in PA.

I still don't understand why "Coke" is used. What if I wanted a Mountain Dew?

Down here it's a coke or a soda, mostly a coke though. It can get rather confusing, but we deal with it rather Well.

It's a southern thing, especially Georgia because of Coke's influence and dominance.
