Default What should I get?

So doing a bit of math, by the time I'm back CONUS I might have about $1000 to spend on a gun related purchase.

I'm just torn what to do with it.

I'm thinking of a few things... Go ahead, and like the Democrats say, "Vote early, vote often."

Hard to beat an upgrade to the optics department. As the saying goes, ........ you can't shoot what you can't see.

Although I wouldn't mind seeing the "level action rifle" you have in mind.

It's kinda like a lever action, only I'm retarded.

Oh and I forgot, in addition I might be painting my XL-7 and scope tan to make it tacticool for a bolt action. Any advice on how to do that would be much appreciated.

Uber, my brother! How's things?

Anyhoo, good optics are hard to beat. Ever think about having Bear do some trigger work to the XL7 as well? A slam dunk with the optics and some special stuff to the Marlin. Just suggesting....

Things are good, can't get on the chat from here though, mIRC is one of the blocked programs.

Maybe, I'll consider the trigger job when I get back.

Well, stay safe. I might add that the beer is cold and tasty here. Just being an ass!

I can say that I would go for the 1911, even though I voted the optics way. I recently got a Springfield 'Loaded' for enough less than $1k and if that was my budget on it, I could not afford some ammo as well.

Been snowy, wet and cold around me lately. I can't wait to post my plans and thoughts. I suppose you can't see the reds? Shame, for shame...LMFAO!

Let us know if you need anything while you are in the desert.

1911 hands down especially if it was a Kimber.
