An AR15 is only good for spraying lead, and can't be used for hunting.
Had a guy at my gun counter say that the other day. I guess I've been doing it wrong the last couple of years...

You set him straight, politely ask him to leave or both?

I only slightly suggested that I only ever hunt with mine. Also, that it shoots 1/2 of an inch all day long.

It was an older guy looking for a .223 bolt action.

lol, I guess he's never seen one set up for high precision. Heck, even the basic carbines with iron sights are extremely accurate.

Pretty much everything the media says about "Assault Rifles" and high capacity magazines is a misconception. In my opinion an assault rifle can only be called that if its being used for "assault" only. The AR platform is one of the most versatile firearms platforms to date and it is a shame that it has such a bad rep. I equate it to the reputation of the pit bull. In the wrong hands (Michael Vick perhaps?) A pit bull can be a menace but I know people with pit bulls and they are the most loving, gentle and loyal dogs I know ...... its a shame and its the same damn thing as firearms.

I think that's my favourite one that I keep seeing come up when people ask about a advice for a new deer rifle. Up here (Canada), that's the smallest legal caliber you can use to hunt country wide.

Know this old Viet Nam Vet.
Tells me the AK-47 round will shoot through a tree.
Thats why our Troops would throw away the M-16,
and carry the AK-47.
And he told me,
the M-16 Did Not have sights.
Going into basic we were told the 45,
will break your wrist.
Any hit, any where,
will knock a man down.
you cant hit the side of a barn, from inside the barn.
And,
Guns are Evil

If you play with it too much you'll go blind...or something like that.
