I've read this beauty more times than I care to remember. Revolvers should be carried with 5 leaving the hammer resting on an open chamber, even in modern da revolvers. The empty chamber is proper with sa revolvers that have no transfer bar, or other form of safety to prevent the firing pin from striking the primer if the hammer is struck. Modern da revolvers going back for decades are meant to be carried safely with all six cylinders loaded. But there'll always be someone who'll recommend as an example that a 50 year old S&W Model 10 should be carried with the hammer resting on an empty cylinder.

I was watching one of those I have no idea where the remote is shows and it ended (finally) and ran into this thing where people where testing out different things. One was silver bullets. Seems because the silver is harder than lead silver bullets are really not accurate. The rifling wont bite into the slug because it's harder.

I know it has nothing to do with the thread really but I found it interesting and thought I"d pass it on.

Good work on the antigunner BTW, though it is like shoveling poo against the tide.

Well, I can tell you that that does happen. Bullets have been found on x-ray no where near point of entry in a body.

My definition of a sniper is a trained/skilled/professional marksman. Not some idiot w/ a deer/varmint rifle shooting innocent people.
I think that a guy who hides in the trunk of his car, shooting out through a hole in his car, he made to shoot through, calmly selecting his target, accompanied by another man who may or may not have been his spotter is, a sniper. I think that this fits the definition close enough. Rather than trained/skilled/professional, he was a "terrorist" sniper

I think wood through the heart could kill most anybody, not just vampires.

We picked up a girl with an entry wound high in her left butt cheek. She was walking across the street when she was hit. We finally found the round in her left ankle. It can and does happen.

Remember hearing this one as a kid. If a jet fighter flying at mach 1+ fires it's guns, it'll outrun the bullets and shoot itself down.

I have found out that the bullet from a perfect horizontal heart shot on a boar will travel to a front leg. I found my .308 bullet stuck in a bone. You can see the discolored, blacked leg and no exit wound. The heart was found in pieces. This also happened to my friend's last boar.
