Thanks. I enjoy what I do and everyday holds something new like getting to go to South Korea and Japan to teach paintball to youth on U.S. Air Force bases this summer.

Lewis University. I am getting my BA in Social Justice and will probably head back to pick up a trade as well.

Social Justice?
Yup I live in the Naperville area. Social/criminal justice is what the program is. The courses focus on a wider range of topics than traditional Cj programs.

I was a Criminal Justice major. Not a good choice if you want to make money. I've had 7 jobs. Banking, insurance, mortgages, sales, software, and operations manager. Criminal Justice is tantamount to unemployment. I should have been an optometrist or something like that. A true 'career' choice. It's my biggest regret, but hey, I'm sure you'll figure something out. Good luck.

My youngest son's friend got a degree in Criminal Justice. He does NOT have the personality for being a street cop. He also can not find a job.

A friend of mine was the son of a cop and got a criminal justice degree. He is now the head of security for a region of a very large national firm.

I also plan on going into the private sector. I have no desire to pursue a career as a beat cop.

Good luck finding a job.

Hard science and engineers are in demand. Finding qualified people is tough and the market is open, to scientists and engineers.

We have been looking for an experienced chemist here in the Chgo area,
9 months now; salary is $80-100k, good ins., matching 401k, 3 wks vaca to
start. Zero qualified prospects.

We found a few but they did not want to move to Chicago, they assumed
the job was in Richmond, where are HQ is.

My first wife had a BA in Psych, the best she did involved the phase,
"...would you like fries with that." Not to be too hard on you but only you
can make yourself valuable. I can be an ******* to work with, but in part
they put up with me because I provide correct and usable answers all the
time. Over the last 28 years I have put together a skill set that is not only
in demand but is very hard to find in my industry. Also my customers love
me, for the same reasons, and I can turn the ******* off as needed, for my
customers. You make yourself valuable.
